Movalle complete his participation on the Young Designers Circle 2023-2025 cohort from the World Design Organization.

As part of the Young Designers Circle Program from the World Design Organization, Movalle has finalized its participation as part of the cohort. Movalle collaborated in several design impact projects and initiatives of the World Design Organization from October 2023 to October 2025, Design Oath and Heritage in Motion.

The World Design Organization launched the “Design Oath,” in which Movalle collaborated in 2024.

As part of the Young Designers Circle Program from the World Design Organization, Manuel ovalle contribute during 2024 in the development of the Design Oath.

"The YDC Design Oath is a global ethics initiative led by members of the World Design Organization’s Young Designers Circle 2023–2025. It aims to create a practical and measurable ethical framework for the design profession, moving beyond theory toward actionable impact. Through global research and workshops held in March 2025, the YDC identified nine core principles that form the foundation of an applied ethics tool designed to help designers evaluate their work, foster dialogue, guide decision-making, and empower ethical leadership within their communities."

Manuel Ovalle Wrote the article "Intersection between Industrial Design, Automation, Technology, and Construction: Experience from 3D Concrete Printing Research and Application at Progreso, Guatemala." for UP (Palermo University , Argentina)

At the University of Palermo (Argentina), Manuel Ovalle was invited to contribute an article to Cuadernos del Centro de Estudios en Diseño y Comunicación No. 269, titled “Futuro Difuso. Between the Materiality and Immateriality of Design and Artificial Intelligence.”

"Abstract: This article explores the intersection of industrial design, automation, and construction, with a special focus on the application of 3D concrete printing. It examines the housing deficit and structural barriers within Latin America’s construction industry, defines additive manufacturing and outlines its expectations and challenges, and, finally, analyzes the role of the industrial designer as a transformative agent in integrating this emerging technology—drawing on research and development experience at Progreso’s Research & Development Center."

Progreso leads construction innovation with its third and largest 3D-printed structure in Latin America to date.

"Progreso unveiled Latin America's largest 3D-printed structure, a 508-square-meter building at the San Miguel Plant in Sanarate. Designed as a modern laboratory and office for Mixto Listo´s Dry Mix Plant, this project exemplifies sustainable construction, completed in just 154 hours using COBOD BOD2 technology and a specialized dry mix mortar from Progreso's R&D Center. The architectural design was a collaboration with  SAGA Architecture."

 

Movalle co-lead the execution, 3D modeling, G-coding, and printer operation, playing a critical role in bringing this milestone project to life.

Movalle performed as panelist at Building Latam Fest 2024, in Lima Peru.

As a researcher at Progreso’s R&D Center, Manuel participated as a guest panelist on the topic of 'Concrete 3D Printing' alongside other regional experts at UTEC Campus in Lima, Peru.

Movalle performed as mentor in the WDO´s "Heritage in Motion International Design Sprint"

As member of the Y.D.C 23´- 25´Movalle performed as mentor for Heritage in Motion Design Sprint.

"With the goal of providing post-secondary design students an interdisciplinary and multicultural learning experience, WDO launched a three-week design sprint in collaboration with its Young Designers Circle. Under the banner of the theme Heritage in Motion: Defining the Future by Design, the pitch-style challenge focused on design research and strategy."

Movalle takes part in the inaugural event of "Inedito" of Design Week Mexico 2022.

Design Week Mexico is one of the most relevant design events in Latam in its XV anniversary, Movalle will take part in it with one elected project as an independent designer to represent Guatemalan Design.

Movalle was elected to the Young Designers Circle 23´- 25´programme by the World Design Organization.
Of a worldwide announcement movable is one of the 35 elected young designers to be part of this WDO´s programme. 

"The programme is aligned with WDO’s mission to design for a better world, and its objectives to promote the use of design to help meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

This initiative aims to strengthen the role of design leadership today, by planting seeds that will lead to a large impact tomorrow.  

The Young Designers Circles programme consists of two groups who work collaboratively and independently over a 2-year term."

Movalle Represents "Progreso" at the award ceremony & and inaugural Week at BID_22 (Iberoamerican Design Biennale) in Madrid, Spain.

Progreso´s  Research and Development center obtained an award at the 2022 Iberoamican Design Biennale "BID_22" in the "Design & City" category, awarded by Madrid´s Design Foundation & Madrid`s town hall, with a movalle´s design "MOD - modular 3D printed station"  developed for Progreso´s concrete 3D print research project.

Progreso performed the first concrete 3D printed product in the region with Movalle Designs as a member of the R&D team.

As a member of the Research & Development team of Cementos Progreso Guatemala, Movalle is the head of design and operator of the first construction printer in Central America and the very first COBOD concrete 3D printer in Latam.

On May 6, 2022, the first printing test was run at Progreso´s facilities. (influunt chair)

In the past April Cinderfit was officially launched in the US.

Movalle take part in the design process and manufacturing blueprint elaboration in 2021.

 

In this project, movalle was hired to redesign an existing concept of the block for mass manufacturing starting from specific client requirements.

Progreso gets prepared to operate a BOD2 concrete construction 3D printer at COBOD Internacional at Denmark.

Progreso Guatemala has purchased a BOD2  construction 3D printer from COBOD, to implement the first full-size concrete 3D print research project in the region.

 

Movalle, being a designer at the research  and development team of Progreso went to Copenhagen, Denmark to COBOD`s facilities for training in the operation of the printer and to study the considerations of the physics & and mechanical characteristics of the printable concrete material.

Movalle was shortlisted in the Ein und Zwanzig, World´s Finest Design Talents | German Design Council.

Movalle was shortlisted in this award promoted by the German Design council, now competing to be part of the 21 selected designers to present itself in Milan. Winners will be announced on August 2, 2021.

Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño 2020, Madrid, Spain.

Movalle represented Guatemala in the seventh edition of the Ibero-American design biennial bid_20, in its opening week that took place from November 23 to 27 in Matadero, Madrid. The exhibition will be open until January 20, 2021.
