"Progreso is a leading company in cement, materials, and construction solutions, with business units in the Construction, Agriculture, Energy, and Real Estate Development sectors. Progreso has presence in eight Latin American countries"

Progreso Guatemala, as a region innovation pioneer, purchased and installed the first COBOD concrete 3D printer in the región in early 2022 intending to develop a 3D printable specialized concrete and validate the construction system at seismic zone at the Research & Development Center.
As an industrial designer, Movalle has worked as researcher at the R&D Center of Progreso since 2019 In this flagship project. Designing, 3D modeling and programing the printed elements, as well as the printer operator.

BETA - Concrete 3D printed 49m² corporate office (2024)

Located in El Progreso, Guatemala, the BETA project is a 49 m², 3-meter-tall corporate conference room designed to showcase advanced 3D printing technology. Featuring a solid concrete roof and smooth curves, the structure frames impressive mountain views.

Manuel collaborated with Arq. Marisable Paredes and Eng. Ariel Osorio at Progreso’s R&D Center to co-design the space. The structure was engineered for seismic resilience meating site´s requeriments with the support of local structural engineers.
Movalle contributed to architectural co-design, 3D modeling, G-code programming, and printer operation.

The printed walls were completed in 36 effective printing hours. Foundation work, finishing, and roof installation were carried out as complementary phases.

MOD - Concrete 3D printed urban Modul (2022)

MOD is a modular proposal for urban furniture manufactured through concrete 3D printing. These modules create alternatives to build public spaces in urban and peri-urban areas of Latin America.
Providing communities with the ability to modulate their urban environment based on their needs with high-strength prefabricated designs. This design can generate a wide variety of spaces (bus stations, beach furniture, lecture station for parks etc..) , building friendlier and more receptive cities for people.
MOD is the tangible result of the first full scale concrete 3D printing research project in Guatemala.

Influunt,Chair (2022)
The Influunt Chair is a piece of durable outdoor furniture manufactured using a single continuous perimeter of high-strength 3D-printed concrete. Its geometry was specifically designed to optimize structural performance, allowing it to support significant loads without requiring steel or fiber reinforcement.

The curvature of the form ensures efficient stress distribution, while its compact volume makes it practical for transport—two people can carry it manually without specialized equipment. This project demonstrates the potential of additive manufacturing in producing functional, long-lasting elements with minimal material waste and simplified logistics.
Hummingbird-Keep Life´s Bestiario collection(Italy)

Hummingbird KeepLife
Movalle partnered in 2024 with Keep Life, an innovative Italian brand known for sustainable craftsmanship, to create the Hummingbird for the renowned "Bestiario" collection. This partnership reflects a blend of artistry and environmental consciousness, celebrating nature's elegance through design.

The Hummingbird is crafted from Keep Life’s proprietary eco-material derived from nutshells, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and the transformation of natural elements into functional art. As a symbol of resilience and energy, the design harmoniously integrates Movalle’s artistic vision with Keep Life's mission of eco-innovation.

As Keep Life´s partner, Movalle was featured at Eh! Design House in Isola Design District at Milan Design Week 2024, with Humming Bird of Bestiario Collection.

CinderFit Workout

In 2021 Movalle was involved as a design consultant in the design process of CinderFit`s workout block, redesigning an existing concept and developing the manufacturing blueprints, also determining pantones and positions of the text in the five blocks.

CinderFit was launched to the market in the U.S in April 2022.

"Inspired by the classic cinder block - the basic building block that has been utilized globally since the late 1800s for the construction of houses, walls, and buildings - CinderFit's patent-pending design allows fitness enthusiasts to do 10x more exercises than a dumbbell or kettlebell, providing unrivaled total body strength and cardio training." - Extracted from CinderFit`s official website.
